Holy Cross Energy (HCE) and the Clean Energy Collective (CEC), developer of the community-owned solar farm, worked for more than a year to create an innovative solution for off-site ownership of solar panels for HCE customers. What does off-site ownership mean? It means that HCE customers can own solar panels in a community array in cooperation with the CEC. HCE then credits the community-solar owners' utility bills each month at $0.11 per kWh for their proportional share of all clean energy produced.
